I’m a sucker for a beautiful daddy/daughter image. Especially when parents request ones that help show their new baby’s size. Did you know that much of what we do in newborn photography here at the studio is intended to help show just how delicate and tiny these fresh little ones are? When we use a basket, or a prop, we do so with careful thought to how we can use it again six or twelve months later to help show the size difference, and how much your little one has grown over the last year. Sometimes a prop used well can help tell a story.
In this case, for this little sweetheart, there are a few images that tell the story of just how tiny, precious and loved she is. The image of her head in daddy’s hands is one of those simple, yet moving images. See how tiny her head is in her daddy’s big hands? 10, 15, 20 years from now she will be able to look back on these images and marvel that her whole head could fit in her daddy’s hands. Same with the little basket she’s curled up in. In six months she’ll be just able to sit in that basket, and in a year, she’ll probably be turning it over to sit on the basket.
Here are a few of our favorites from this session with Baby E:
Daddy is a particular fan of the images in this series. The little “tree frog” position she adopted, grabbing hold of daddy with everything she has… absolutely precious, and laugh out loud funny at the same time.
Mommy and daddy both loved this image with her eyes open and exploring the world.
Since daddy is a photographer himself, we opted not to do any custom wall layouts. Instead they chose an heirloom album and digital package to enjoy their images today, and in the future.
