Baby curls

These baby curls will soon give way to a big boy haircut for stylish Mr Edward who is soon celebrating his second birthday!

I first met Edward’s mom and dad when they came in to my previous studio in Bethesda for a maternity session and then again for the new family’s newborn pictures.  Since that time Edward has had plenty of experience with airplanes and they recently made the 8+ hour trip back to the US, so you can imagine how excited I was when I received a note from Edward’s mama inquiring about an new, updated portrait session for her growing little guy.  I absolutely love being able to meet my littlest clients again, as they grow.  It’s such a treat to be able to see their personalities grow and develop, and to help ensure that their first memories of portraits are positive and fun!

As usual, we arranged several different sets and activities for us to play with in the studio.  Toddlers are busy and do best when they can explore and discover new things.  I find I always have to reassure parents that we really are capturing some fantastic images, even while we’re sprawled on the floor coloring a picture, or riding on a fire truck.  It might be a little unconventional compared to many studios, but I find we can capture the most genuine expressions when kids are busy having fun!
