It’s a baby super bowl! Continuing with our 2017 Recap Series, we have our “2017 Recap: Baby Super Bowl Edition”.
Most of our newborn sessions include at least one of our signature “bowl portraits”. These images are some of the most popular choices for parents who would love to have a single piece of statement art for their family room, living room or other social space in their home. This pose is so versatile, often offering us a chance to peek at baby’s preferred sleeping positions with hands on their cheek, behind their head, curled up tight, or on their side (it always amazes us at how much personal preferences newborns communicate from such an early age!)
Creative Newborn Poses in Bowls
This pose also offers us, as artists, a nearly unlimited set of creative options to personalize this pose for your interests, and home decor. When designing and planning a newborn portrait session, we’re often inspired by the seasons, by floral and natural details around us, and by baby’s nursery themes. We’ll often find ourselves using softer colors in the Spring, and warmer, more vibrant colors in the Fall. Winter whites with touches of silver and gold, or red and evergreen are popular during the holiday season.
We love using simple props like these to help show a newborn’s tiny size and distinctive proportions. These bowls and baskets can later be used during baby’s next portrait session (at about six months and one year) to help show how much they have grown (read more about when and how often to schedule your portrait sessions here).
Newborn sessions are usually reserved during your second and third trimester of pregnancy and generally take place between 5 and 14 days after birth. Contact us today to reserve your session! Explore more, behind the scenes on Instagram and follow us on Facebook for promotions and previews.
