Preparing and Planning Your Session

Preparing for your portrait session doesn’t have to be stressful or difficult at all and we’re here to help you every step of the way.  We’re learned a few things over the years that have been helpful for ensuring you get the most out of your experience with us.

Your first step is to give us a call.  We’ll answer all your questions and together we’ll plan the look, style, colors and set that we’ll use to customize your session. Between our extensive prop and wardrobe room, and the hidden gems you may already have in your own closets, we’ll create a unique experience for you and your family.

In general there are a few things that you’ll want to avoid, during the two weeks prior to your session.  These include:

  • a new piercing
  • a new hair cut, style or color
  • dramatic change in your facial hair style
  • anything that involves hair/skin bleach, dye, tattoos, or permanent markers
  • waxing (makeup cannot adhere to freshly waxed skin, and your skin will look glossy and reflective. Wax at least 10 days prior to your session.)

We also have some tips and tricks specifically for each type of portrait session, and we’ll be sure to chat during your Planning Consultation to cover all these details.
